Students Thesis

A– Bachelor of Science Thesis

1– Aghaahmadi, Farzaneh, “Mathematical modeling of an educational time tabling problem: A case study” (In Persian), Bachelor of Science Thesis, Dept. of Industrial Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology, 2011

Abstract:

Course scheduling in an educational department with maximum availability for students and with maximum satisfactory for instructors is the problem its modeling is considered in this work. First the functional constraints risen in practice are investigated and second, optimizing different goals in the objective function, a linear programming model is presented.

2– Mashayekhi, Zahra, “Networks flow and their applications in optimization modeling”(In Persian), Bachelor of Science Thesis, Dept. of Industrial Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology, 2011

Abstract:

Many practical optimization problems can easily be modeled by Network techniques. In this thesis, first the theory of networks is introduced and second some well-known network models and their solution algorithms are reviewed. Finally, the application of network models in optimization problems, especially in project planning and control problems, is investigated

B– Master of Science Thesis

1-Sadeghi Rad, Reza, “Computing (r,Q) policy for an inventory system with limited shareable resource under continues review”(In Persian), Master of Science Thesis, Dept. of Industrial Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology, 2011

Abstract:

This thesis deals with inventory systems with limited resource for a multiple items under continuous review (r, Q) policies. For the multi-item system with stochastic demands and limited resource commonly shared among all items, an optimization problem is formulated for finding optimal (r, Q) policies for all items, which minimize the expected system costs. A heuristic method is presented for determining the near optimal policies for large scale problems.

2– Zare Rais Abadi, Esmat, “Vehicle routing problem with time window under site-vehicle dependency”(In Persian), Master of Science Thesis, Dept. of Industrial Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology, 2011

Abstract:

The Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) is one of the most applicable problems in industries and plays a major role in the logistics. In this problem, several vehicles with limit capacity service customers with known demand. In this thesis, the basic model of CVRP is extended by considering the site-vehicle dependency. Then in order to solve the extended model, a ant colony optimization method is proposed.

3– Rastgar Amini, Farrin, “Modeling and solution approach for the university course time tabling problem and faculty-course-room assignment”(In Persian), Master of Science Thesis, Dept. of Industrial Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology, 2011

Abstract:

Course scheduling in an educational department in the maximum level of availability for students (regarding the time conflict between the courses) not only improves the efficiency of the educational plan and overall satisfactory, but also increases the possibility of graduating of students on predefined educational period. Considering the faculty time preferences in presenting their courses, we investigate this problem with a new objective function that is minimizing the number of synchronous courses with common students in proportion to the amount of their common students in this thesis.
